Youth Sunday school Curriculum- The bigger picture
In teaching youth Sunday School curriculum you really must think about the bigger picture. Here is what I mean. Most Sunday schools or bible studies last for about one hour and of that hour fifteen minutes is devoted to hanging out or doing announcements. This leaves at most forty-five minutes for actualy stud. This means two things. The first is that if your students are truly going to grow then they must study beyond the hour you are with them. Also, the majority of their lives happens outside of the church. We must keep these two realities in mind as teachers and leaders. We must remember that we do not have much time with our students so we must train and equip them to study the word of God outside of our sunday School hours. We also must realize that they will be living their lives out in the world so we must prepare them for this battle and challenge them to live the right way and make an impact on those around them. We must fight the urge to make things center around your bible study hour but instead help your students see the bigger picture of what is going on in their lives and what their lives should look like.
