Youth Sunday School Curriculum- Get Tough

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE

As a teacher of youth Sunday school curriculum I have found many things to be true about students. One of the biggest ones is that they will do whatever it takes to excuse their behavior and have you approve of what they are doing.  This can be done by anything from distorting scripture to playing what if and hypothetical games. But I have found one thing in all of these situations to be very important. You have to be tough with them.  This may not be the case with a new student, but with one you have a relationship with and you know has a decent understanding of their faith, you have to stop them in their tracks and speak the truth. This may seem difficult and you may be afraid you are turning them away, but the costs are too high to let things slide.  Our students live in an anything goes world and we need to show them the truth in scripture about how they should live. And we know need to show them how that truth does not change regardless of the scenario or situation.  We need to be tough in love and redirect them in the way they should go.
